Paper 3 Process EXAMPLE

There is so much more to going grocery shopping then just going up and down the aisles looking for items that you may need. There is preparation. Preparation is an ongoing process and involves all members within the household.

One of the first steps in preparation is coupon clipping. Whether Fido brings in the paper or you must visit the newsstand, don’t forget to grab the coupons and advertisement pages from the Sunday newspaper. The coupons and advertisements give you a chance to see new products, decide on items that will be needed in coming weeks, and ultimately clipping coupons will save you money on the grocery bill.

The next step involves preparing a refrigerator list. The refrigerator list is composed of all the household items such as paper towels, soap, and cat food that are regularly used in your home. As household items are used, each person should remember to add the depleted item to the list on the refrigerator so that it can be included on the next grocery store run.

Depending on your families needs you may need to go grocery shopping weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly. Whatever your life dictates gather current grocery store advertisement and your coupons and work on your meal plan. From the meal plan, your grocery list is developed but then enhanced with the list of items on the refrigerator list.

Once the lists have been collated next comes sorting through all your coupons. Any item that you have on your list that can be purchased with a coupon should be marked with a “C” to remind you to purchase the correct brand.

Remember to never go grocery shopping hungry, you will feel the need to buy unnecessary items.

With list, coupons, and pen in hand you are ready to head to the grocery store. As you cruise up and down the grocery store aisles make sure to mark off each item on our list.

You must be a bargain shopper. Compare the prices of brands and sizes to get the best value for your buck. BEWARE! There will be many items marked for sale but keep walking if the item is not on your list.

After surveying all you see and making sure that all your grocery items have been retrieved, head to the checkout lanes. I hope that you have stuck to the plan and have saved a few dollars on your purchases.

In conclusion, even a chore like grocery shopping can be made easier by a little preparation.
